Last February 13, 2014Kelly Palaganas, Reynaldo Concepcion, and Voltaire Tupaz visited the University of the Philippines Baguio and shared some career experiences to inspire students.

This career talk was held in the University of the Philippines Baguio, Sarmiento Hall from 1 pm to 4 pm.

The first speaker, Palaganas, is a painter and at the same time a writer. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD).

A student asked the question, “How did you find your style?” She answered, “Open your mind to ideas. Your style will evolve naturally from the things you like to do.”

Concepcion is an Associate Professor at the College of Fine Arts in UPD. He was once an accountant. He graduated with a degree in Accountancy at the Far Eastern University. But he realized that he is really an artist by heart. So he took up his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts at the Pratt Institute. And now, he is happy sharing his knowledge in arts as a professor.

He said, “Sa art, age doesn’t matter. Kung talagang artist ka, it doesn’t matter if you start young, or you start old. It doesn’t matter as long as you have the passion, and you believe that you can do it.”

The last speaker, Tupaz, graduated with a degree in Social Sciences at UPB. And he is currently working at Rappler as a journalist.
