PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Fine Arts (FA) Program is envisioned to uphold responsibility, honor and excellence in the promotion of the visual arts to support UP Baguio’s aim to nurture innovative programs to continue developing its niche in the Cordillera and Northern Luzon.
The FA Program’s mission is to contribute to UP Baguio’s aim to create an impact through programs that are informed with a regional perspective and at the same time informed by a national and global outlook through the baccalaureate and certificate programs in Fine Arts which develop well-rounded individuals who promote the study, enrichment and preservation of the traditional and contemporary art forms in the Philippines, and can become competent visual arts practitioners, teachers, and cultural workers who embody cultural rootedness and service to the region and the nation.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- To produce graduates who are well trained and highly versatile in both studio art practices and visual design and communication, as well as in traditional and contemporary art making, and in art history, theory and research in the visual arts;
- To promote the study, enrichment and preservation of the traditional and contemporary art forms in the Philippines; and
- To contribute to the development of competent art practitioners, visual arts teachers, and cultural workers.
